It was not a big deal but a lock on the room door might be a thought since some people might feel more secure about their belongings, etc. There was a lock on the main door, though, so we were not too worried.

Breakfast was great, the location was relaxed and lovely to be able to look out onto the park. We were greeted warmly by one of the owners, and made welcome. I would definitely recommend this B and B to friends, or anyone wanting to stay at a lovely bed and breakfast establishment.

My daughter and I spent a very comfortable night at Het Vogelhaus in Leiden. The owners had put much thought and care into providing for all needs imaginable. The beds were very comfortable, room lovely and warm, and immaculately clean. The rooms were furnished with charm and had cute little colorful, artistic touches which added to the warmth of the guest house. Breakfast was great, the location was relaxed and lovely to be able to look out onto the park. We were greeted warmly by one of the owners, and made welcome. I would definitely recommend this B and B to friends, or anyone wanting to stay at a lovely bed and breakfast establishment.

Het Vogelhuis was very quiet since it is across the street from a lovely park which you walk through to get to the train station. I enjoyed 3 nights at Het Vogelhuis in Leiden - the private bath & large bedroom/sitting room on the 3rd floor felt like a private apartment. Het Vogelhuis was very quiet since it is across the street from a lovely park which you walk through to get to the train station. Jan delivered a hearty & delicious breakfast each morning and the free wireless worked great!
For improvement:
My only difficulty was climbing the typical Dutch circular staircase, but Jan was kind enough to help me with my bags. He said they are in the process of creating 2 rooms at garden level.

Het is een mooie B&B, zeer rustig gelegen en op fiets-en/of wandelafstand van het centrum van Leiden. Het ontbijt is verzorgd en ruim voldoende. De badkamer is heel netjes. Het is fijn om thee en koffie te kunnen maken op de kamer. Heel vriendelijke gastheer!

Hopelijk komt er uitbreiding zodanig dat mensen die moeilijk een trap (draaitrap naar de 2de verdieping) op kunnen ook in het Vogelhuis terecht kunnen.

We hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad in Het Vogelhuis. De ontvangst was hartelijk en de ontbijtjes goed verzorgd. Het is rustig gelegen met genoeg leuke dingen in de omgeving. We hebben alles met het openbaar vervoer gedaan. De wandeling naar het station is goed te doen, zeker als je door het tegenoverliggende bos gaat. Ook het uitstapje naar Amsterdam was erg leuk.
