Pleasant room on first floor with own entrance, balcony and lovely view over the canal. Shared landing with our son's room attached, your own bathroom with shower and toilet.
Comfortable sofabed for two, TV, fridge, coffee/tea facilities and combi microwave.
Our house was build in 1882. It is centrally located in a quiet area. It is only a 5 minutes walk to the Haarlemmerdijk, a friendly shoppingstreet with cinema, restaurants and all kind of shops.

Unfortunately last week was already full but André offered us a possibility a week later which we accepted.
We loved our stay at B&B deKade, warm welcome, good breakfast, privacy when we wanted; nice clean bathroom and a lovely bed.
Coming back in the evening it felt like coming home: warm personal style, much different from the cold hotelrooms and cheaper too.
Well located in a quiet area but close to Haarlemmerdijk, said to be the best shopping street in Amsterdam, where we even saw Saint Nicolas.

I enjoyed my stay at this B&B. The hosts Hilda and Andre are very hospitable and were willing to answer any questions I had. They also served an extensive and healthy breakfast that was delivered to my door (various breakfast options can be submitted on the previous evening). The house is conveniently located near the centre of Amsterdam. The Haarlemmerstraat (busy and narrow shopping street, mind the bicycles), Central (railway) Station, The Jordaan and its canals are within walking distance. Alternatively there is bus that takes you to central station and there is a tram stop around the corner that takes you in the direction of the Van Gogh and Rijks museum. The b&b room itself is clean and spacious and contains a comfortable bed. I was happy to see that this b&b has wireless internet as well. And yes I did enjoy the view onto a canal, don't be surprised to see a sailing boat going passed. All in all I would like to stay here again., highly recommended! Thanks again!

Our hostess was pleasant, helpful, provided ample breakfasts, and looked after our lugagge on the last day. The location may seem out of the way, but Haarleemplein is an excellent public transport hub - and Amsterdam transport is frequent, rapid and efficient.. Princes Island directly to the east is charming and has by Amsterdam standards an excellent and affordable bistro, called the Golden Real. Our relatively spacious room had a view of a canal. Quiet area.

We found the mattress hard and the divan bed awkward for a couple. The furniture could be called shabby chic. The entrance through the bathroom is odd and the DIY electrics looked dodgy. The narrow entrance and staircase and the relatively high price are it seems normal for Amsterdam.

We had a wonderful time during our long weekend in Amsterdam, and a big contributor to this was the lovely accommodation we had at B&B De Kade. The rooms available to us were spacious, well equipped and comfortable. In fact we agreed the bed was far more comfortable than the one we have at home. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance, so the accommodation was perfect, although there's a tram stop right near the house should anyone wish to use it. The information provided by Hilda and Andre on arrival, and in the extensive literature left in the room were very helpful. The breakfast provided was very tasty, and it was a treat to have it delivered to our door first thing in the morning. I'd thoroughly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Our second stay. Hilda and Andres have made improvements which are all very welcome. Still the very warm welcome, the super location just out of the core but so very convenient to transportation links, lovely discussions, hearty breakfasts, very willing to please and accommodate but (i) their breakfasts are now open to personal preferences and (ii) they have super Internet connections. There were 2 (and sometimes 3 and 4) of us staying in early September and everyone enjoyed their stay. We discovered a quick, free ferry link to and from Amsterdam Centraal Station: take the NDSM ferry and connect with the Houthavenveer ferry - then a short, smooth walk with your bags to the B&B on Houtmankade on the EAST side of the Westerkanaal. An interesting, free, fast and relatively frequent boat ride. Map: http://www.gvb.nl/english/travellers/maps/Pages/ferrymap.aspx

It's a pretty quiet building in a pretty quiet neighbourhood - it's a good value but not posh.
