You stay in what used to be the captains den. You have your own entrance, bathroom with toilet, roofterrace, TV and access to an internet connection
(not wireless). You have your own frig, coffeemaker and water-kettle. You have a beautiful romantic view of the Nieuwe Vaart with Kromhoutyard and working mill.
The Drijfveer lies next to the working historic shipyard Kromhout. You can walk (15 min) to the Dam, Leidseplein and the museumquarter (Rembrandtmuseum, Van Goghmuseum, etc). Do you prefer public transportation: Bus 22 and tram 10 have stops very near the Drijfveer. Paid parking is possible nearby (4,50 euro per hour).
At five minutes walking is the lively Dappermarket (won the “best of Netherlands” award!) with lots of pubs, lunchrooms and restaurants. On your way to the market you can admire the working mill, that is part of a brewery (with guided tours) with a pub and terrace at the waterfront.
In the city centre with the peace of a rural environment!

The warmth of welcome and attention to detail was outstanding. The location was perfect for a visit to a canal city. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with an abundance of everything. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Le petit déjeuner est gargantuesque et excellent !
La propriétaire est pleine de bonnes intentions, comme des petits chocolats de paques !
Je conseille très vivement cette chambre (dormir dans une péniche est quand même plutôt original )

Nous avions pris une carte de transports en commun illimité donc l'emplacement était parfait pour nous. En revanche si vous êtes à pied, c'est un peu loin (compter 20 minutes de la gare centrale, 30 du centre).
Inclure une location de vélos dans l'offre pourrait être une excellente alternative !

We had a brilliant stay. The boat is cosy and brilliantly quaint, Simone and Bartend were both incredibly welcoming and willing to help with any queries that we had. The breakfast they stocked the fridge with is also brilliant. Although the boat is over 100 years old the heater in the main living area is more than powerful enough to ensure you are properly cosy - the bed was also very comfy and had loads of pillows. An all around brilliant stay!

A small mirror by the sink would make it slightly easier to shave, however, it wasn't a major issue getting around this and that small quirk of living on the boat was more than offset by the brilliant experience!

Point of departure
Verblijf is goed bevallen. Ruimte uiteraard klein (woonboot), maar dit was tegelijkertijd ook de charme. Ontbijt was prima verzorgd. Ook prettig om daarin je eigen gang te kunnen gaan. Plek zeker aan te bevelen. Heerlijk stil en in mooie buurt, centrum A'dam.
