Atmospheric house at the centre of the mediaeval town of Groningen , situated along a ancient canal. The town has about 180.000 inhabitants from wich nearly 30 % students.
The Bed and Breakfast is located at 1 kilometer from the main trainstation. The fascinating Groninger Museum is to be reached easely by feet and de Cultural Centre The Oosterpoort is just a three minutes walk. Also at short distance is the Academic Hospital (UMCG), the marketplace and the local pride , "Martinitoren".
The Winschoterdiep lies just a 300 meters from the highway. The rooms are situated at the groundfloor . All rooms have an own bathroom and toilet. There's an own entrance and there's a small garden with terrace.
On your request we offer you free parkinglicence for a limited time as well as lowcost bicyclehire .
Price is excluding breakfast. Euro 5 per person will be charged for this service. Tea and coffee are supllied for free.

Ruime kamer in een oud sfeervol pand, er is een fijne tuin aanwezig, en de service is heel vriendelijk. De b&b heeft een goede ligging tov centrum. Er is een mooie keuken aanwezig waar gebruik van kan worden gemaakt.

Het was even schrikken toen ik aanbelde en geen gehoor kreeg. Maar dat werd echt op een spontane prettige manier opgevangen door de buurvrouw die kennelijk ook het beheer heeft. Verder een prachtige gezellige ruimte met annex keuken en een prachtige badkamer. Ook het aangrenzend tuintje bood een heerlijk avondzonnetje. Geen poche maar juist vrij en eerlijk: een prima verblijf voor ons congresbezoek.

Great house, amazing rooms, very spacious, totally renovated and clean, cosy atmosphere, fully equiped accommodation.
Geweldig huis, geweldige kamers, volledige gerenoveerde douche en toilet. Mooi oud Nederlands huis maar volledig opgeknapt. Buurvrouw van eigenaar handelde alles af en deed dit zeer correct en vriendelijk (en gezellig!).

Bedden zakken iets door, maar eigenlijk vind ik dit een pietluttige opmerking, gezien het feit dat de rest gewoon geweldig is (en dan zijn wij nog best wel verwend...)!

Really nice location, about 10 min walk to the centre. Very nice garden which we had breakfast in, easy going host, you just help yourself to breakfast from the fridge.
The room was really nice, we stayed in the back room which was really quiet.
For improvement
Not a problem, but just something to be aware of.
Only slight negative was the parking situation. We parked right outside the door which was perfect and there is a parking permit which the owner gave us and called to register it as valid, however a couple of hours later we came out to find a parking ticket.
The owner has promised to sort it out and if it does need to be paid, he has said he will pay it.
It was a genuine mistake so I hope we don't get the bill in a few weeks time, but he was very trusting (we didn't have the right cash when we arrived so we left the money in the room when we left) so I'm sure it will be alright.
