Gronsveld is enclosed between the river Maas and the natures reserve Savelsbos and within a 20-minute drive you find the roman build city Maastricht,the Belgium city Luik and the German city Aken.The beauty of the natures reserve Savelsbos is well known,it has unique flora and fauna to enjoy.Visit the marl quarries,they go back to the middle age,or the pre historic Flinstone mines.Two miles from Gronsveld,at the banks of the river Maas there is the wildlife reserve Eijsder beemden.You will see Polish Konik horses and Scottish Galloway cattle walking freely besides many different sorts of birds.For the push bikers there are outlined bike paths.The river valley is nearby and the Ardennes,where many battles have been fougth during the war,is just a 20-minute drive away.Maastricht has an Academically Hospital,a University and two trainstations

Positive Experiences
Het was een eenvoudig maar schoon B&B, waar we vriendelijk zijn ontvangen. Fijn dat we zelf konden koken, erg prettig. Het bed lag lekker en het extra kacheltje maakte de kamer lekker warm (keuken bleef wel een beetje koud). Het dropje zelf is niet mooi of interessant, maar dichtbij het prachtige Zavelse Bos doet veel goed.

For improvement
Erg jammer dat het zo gehorig was en dat we op twee van de drie dagen 's ochtends vanaf een uur of 7 het gezin naast/onder ons met kleine kinderen nogal hard hoorden spelen en praten, terwijl we echt even tot rust wilden komen, weg van onze luidruchtige buren. Door de foto;s hadden we het idee dat het een vrijstaand huisje was, maar dat bleek dus niet zo te zijn. Ook was het zitje buiten minder privé dan we dachten (vrijwel aan de straat), maar dat gaf in ons geval niet omdat het te koud was. Maar met mooi weer hadden we dat wel jammer gevonden.

Keurig 'appartement' met slaapkamer, keukentje, badkamer en evt apart te huren kleine slaapkamer. De ingredienten voor een uitgebreid ontbijt stonden klaar in de ijskast. Vermeldenswaardig en buitengewoon attent was dat de gastheer ons 's nachts heeft opgehaald op het adres waar waar aten in een naburig dorp. Super!

Wij huurden het appartement. Het gastgezin was heel vriendelijk, niks is hen teveel.Goede uitvalbasis voor prachtige fiets- en wandeltochten.
