The Old Ferry House was est. in 1875. Situated directly on the river Maas, with a splendid view over the river Maas and the Lithse Ham.
From Varik with the foot ferry across the river Waal to reach Heerewaarden from the north side or over the highway between Rossum and Dreumel. (Zaltbommel and Tiel).
With the foot ferry Dr. Wiegersma, that lies in front of the ferry house, one can easily cross the Lithse Ham to reach Noord-Brabant and the walk and bike routes overthere. Wonderful large sand lake, where you can spend a day on the beaches. or go sight-seeing by bike along the attractions on the other side of the river.
The Old ferry House has a wonderful Burgundy kitchen and a splendid authentic interior. www.veerhuis-heerewaarden.nl

De eigenaren en ander personeel zijn altijd even attent en het eten is erg lekker o.a. dankzij vakmanschap van Jules en Wim. Echt een aanrader en de moeite waard om er terug te komen, erg gezellig. Complimenten!

door de persoonlijke betrokkenheid van de gastvrouw en heer was ons verblijf in het Oude Veerhuis
een bijzonder prettige ervaring en wij hebben genoten van de heerlijke gerechten van het bijbehorende restaurant . Kortom , beslist een aan beveling.

De kok stelde onmiddelijk aanpassingen van het menu voor i.v.m. fysieke gesteldheid. Door de eigenaar werd ons een verrassend ontbijt voorgeschoteld (met o.a. pannekoek) en van wat we overhadden een lunch samengesteld (om mee te nemen).

Ventilatie op de (kleine) kamer.
Het was er erg warm (vandaar comfort 5).

Een prima B&B, heel praktisch en strategisch gelegen tussen andere B&B's in, perfecte service, een hartelijke en amicale benadering door gastheer en -vrouw en een hele mooie omgeving tussen de Maas en de Waal. Last but not least: een prima keuken!

Enorme gastvrijheid en dienstverlenende instelling van de gastheer en-vrouw. Je voelt je meteen thuis en op je gemak. Prachtige, nostalgische ambiance. Rustig gelegen aan de Maas.

For improvement
Het kleinste kamertje is moeilijk warm te krijgen. Het uitzicht vanuit de logeerkamers is rommelig; wellicht een leuke tuin aanleggen en wat opruimwerkzaamheden doen.

Zeer lieve en gastvrije ontvangst. Ontbijt lekker uitgebreid en een geweldige keuken. Wil je tot rust komen zit je hier helemaal goed. We hebben genoten en komen ook zeker terug.

2 x 2 echtparen. Gastvrije ontvangst. Ook buiten het seizoen prima plek. Gezellige, ouderwetsche living. Goed slapen. Kan je eigen gang gaan.
