My daughter and I visited Salomon's Room April 1-6. We were treated like family! The apartment is quite spacious. We enjoyed reading in the living area when we needed to rest. You can hear the church bells and the birds and the big windows let in a beautiful view. Griet prepares a wonderful breakfast every morning. Thank you Griet and Willem!

The accommodatioins were wonderfully clean, comfortable, and bathed in the warmth, grace and hospitality of the proprietor, Griet Alma Devos. Surrounded by a marvelous collection of books, art, and loving memories, I found myself continually at peace during my stay. It is located conveniently within steps of a marvelous assortment of local shops and restaurants, and is within easy access to the intercity train. The breakfasts provided each morning by Ms. Devos were so completely wonderful as to set a tone of inspired serenity that lasted throughout the day. The marvelous selection of local delecacies were served to the accompaniment of soft music, candle light, and the delightful attentiveness of Ms. Devos herself. This was unquestionable the best B&B experience I have ever had, and will gladly return.

A micowave oven would be appreciated since I stayed for 14 days. A bigger variety of TV channels would also contribute to improve on a wonderful stay However, even without these minor luxuries I had a wonderful stay.

Two wonderful rooms at the attic and a terrace roof with a gorgeous view of Leiden's old town, delicious breakfasts with pancakes and croissants, and the warmful smile of Griet, the landlady, who is always ready to help... My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights at Salomon's rooms and we enjoyed it a lot... We definitively recommend it to anybody coming to Leiden or even to other cities in Holland (Amsterdam and The Hague are not far away!)!!!

accueil naturel et chaleureux - Breakfast fait par la maitresse de maison, copieux, délicieux et chaque jour un peu différent - présence attentive et attentionnée de la maîtresse de maison, nous donnant ainsi l'impression de faire partie de la famille et d'être comme chez soi - logement spacieux - confortable et bien décoré - Salomon's room est situé en plein centre de Leiden mais cependant très au calme. A proximité de tout .Griet est très disponible pour rendre notre séjour agréable tant chez elle que pour les renseignements pratiques concernant les visites à Leiden ou ailleurs en Hollande.
Nous avons souvent profité de chambres d'hotes ici ou ailleurs et nous avons rarement trouvé un accueil aussi agréable. Donc à recommander sans arrière pensée !

This is my second stay at Salomon's Room, and all my positive experiences of the first time repeated themselves. The room is large and bright, the location is perfect -on a quiet side street right in the center of Leiden - the price is extremely reasonable. What makes the stay special is the warmth and hospitality of Griet, the owner. Over her wonderful home-cooked breakfasts, she makes one feel at home, welcomed and well-looked after. I would recommend this B&B for anyone - professional person, couple, family - who is staying in Leiden for a few days and wants a comfortable home away from home.

warm onthaal, lekker uitgebreid ontbijt, goeie koffie, gezellige babbel, stemmig warme ingerichte kamer, ligging in centrum en toch rustig, veel licht en ruimte. geen enkele reden om niet meer terug te komen.

I spent 3 nights at Salomon's Room, and it was one of the most memorable B&B experiences I've ever had in my many years of traveling. The location was very convenient (within an easy walking distance from the train station and close to everything), and the room was clean, comfortable, and very private (I had the whole floor to myself). The bed was very comfortable to sleep on, and it was quite enjoyable to sit in the sunny living room or on the roof deck with a book and a glass of wine. The best of all, the hospitality of Griet and Wim was simply amazing! They welcomed me so openly and warmly from the moment I arrived at their doorstep, and they treated me as if I were one of their own family members. I had many hours of inspiring conversations with Griet over breakfast (which was also amazing), and the highlight of my stay was the dinner Griet hosted with her close friends - she was kind enough to invite me to join the dinner, and I had the most lovely evening with her interesting guests from all over the world. The food she served was tastefully arranged and simply delicious (home cooking at its best!) - she mentioned that she may open a restaurant at home later in the year, and I'm sure it will be a great success. Salomon's Room is one of those places where you would want to visit again and again - I for one will definitely revisit Salomon's Room to re-experience the magic all over again!
