Bed & Breakfast Groot Maarslag is to be found on a terp, between Mensingeweer and Schouwerzijl, on the bank of what used to be the river Hunze.
The recently restored characteristic farm dates back to 1828 and is in the middle of an area of outstanding cultural and historical value.
It’s the ideal base for a discovery packed trip through the famous landscape of Groningen. The surroundings were a major source of inspiration for the painters of “the Ploeg “.
Groot Maarslag has two spacious luxury rooms, with their own ambience. All rooms have excellent twin beds, a large sofa, a comfortable armchair, coffee and tea making facilities, a television and internet access. Both rooms have their own modern bathrooms and private terraces. In the morning a large breakfast is served. Groot Maarslag is 20 minutes from Groningen city.

Positive Experiences
I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to enjoy a comfortable location in the beautiful countryside north of the Netherlands. The room was great for 2+2 kids, loved the bathroom, everything is like brand new, decorated with style, great breakfast in the charming eating room, perfect location, great hosts that let us all the privacy we needed. Thank you, we'll come back!

For improvement
Just because I don't want to put a 10 score everywhere, I would like to see a stereo or a DVD player for the kids, and a sauna for myself!
