Gelegen aan de Waddenkust in Noordoost Friesland ligt Paesens-Moddergat een klein tweelingdorp met een beschermd dorpsgezicht. Meerdere bezienswaardigheden herinneren nog aan het vroegere harde vissersbestaan zoals It Fiskerhuske een museum met een drietal gerestaureerde visserswoningen en het monument op de dijk ter nagedachtenis aan de rampnacht van 1883 waar bij een zware storm vele vissers het leven lieten. Ieder jaargetijde nodigt uit voor een wandeling achter de dijk om te genieten van de rust en het prachtige zicht over het wad met in de verte zowel Schiermonnikoog als Ameland. In deze weidse natuurlijke omgeving ligt op enkele minuten wandelen van de dijk de rietgedekte stelpboerderij Lytshuis Zilver bestaande uit drie gedeeltes waarvan het oorspronkelijke lytshuis - kleine schuur- is omgebouwd voor drie van de vier gastenkamers, welke ieder een eigen ingang hebben. Vierde kamer, royale ontbijt- en zitruimte zijn gelegen in de woonboerderij.

Het onthaal was heel openhartig en u weet direct dat het een prettige WE zal worden. Mr en mevr zijn heel lief en altijd bereid ons een tip te geven voor een excursie of een goed restaurant. Wij logeerde in kamer "buthus",
heel mooie kamer met een terras met zicht over de akkers. Fris bedgarnituur en een zeer grote badkamer met bad en douche. Badlinnen hadden wij genoeg, wat niet altijd het geval is in en B & B.
Het ontbijt was heel uitgebreid
Dit B&B is aan te raden. bravo

Het is een prachtige locatie en de gastvrijheid is ook geweldig. In de omgeving is genoeg te doen, maar het is ook afgelegen genoeg om helemaal tot rust te kunnen komen.
