De Oude Herbergh, translated The Old Tavern, is a thatch-roofed traditional farmhouse build in 1870 on the waterfront in the Frisian town of Terherne. It has been restored into an idyllic B&B with four comfortable ensuite guestrooms, 2 apartments and one free standing cottage. It is the perfect location for a bit of watersport adventure, as the village is nearly entirely surrounded by water, the Terherne pools and the Sneekermeer lake.
The d'Oude Herbergh is the perfect starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding waters and land. Step on board of an authentic farming boat, zeilpraam. Or rent an open sailboat or motorised sloop and exolore the Frisian waters. Experience the peace and quiet of canoeing. Landlubbers can explore the surroundings by bicycle or on foot on one of the many lovely walking and bicycling routes in the area. If you prefer crowds, the large towns of Joure, Grou and Sneek are close by.
