Ever since 1996, Kunsthuis Kort has been established in an old school building (1907). Marian Kort, who runs this art centre, is also a visual artist by profession. Her sculpture studio, exhibition halls and antique and curio shop are all located on the ground floor. Bed and breakfast accommodation is available on the first floor. This bed and breakfast accommodation has been designed and furnished entirely in keeping with the old school style, with antique school maps decorating the walls. It also boasts old games and toys, as well as ornaments and figurines from the convent school and of course a hearty breakfast, which is served on antique school desks, complete with old-fashioned ink wells! There is even a tea garden located alongside the water!

Workum is a small Frisian city, dating back centuries, located on the Ijsselmeer (Lake Yssel). Many water sports enthusiasts, hikers, cyclists, canoeists and bird watchers can enjoy this magnificent area. Bicycles can be rented here.

we vonden het een leuke n gezellig weekend. Een prettige ontvangst en een leuke kennismaking door de mooie kunst en de grote hoeveelheid spullen met een geschiedenis.

For improvement
De handdoeken zijn wat hard en er was er maar een aanwezig op de kamer.
Alles was snel opgelost en het verblijf was gewoon leuk, omdat het veel herinneringen omhoog haalde.

Deze oude school is helemaal in stijl ingericht; heel erg leuk.
Hartelijke ontvangst en zeer goed verzorgd.
De winkel van kunsthuis Kort is een echte aanrader.

Dit is de bijzonderste B&B waar ik ooit geslapen heb: een oude school die door mevrouw Kort volledig in oorspronkelijke stijl is gehouden. Mevrouw Kort is erg aardig en liet mij op verzoek ook haar uitgebreide winkel en atelier zien. Ligging in het prachtige Workum is ideaal!

For improvement
Ontbijt is wat basaal, internet werkte niet, maar dat gaat ze herstellen en je moet voorbereid zijn, althans in de aap-noot-mieskamer op kerkklokken van de direct tegenover gelegen kerk.

Leuke locatie in oude voormalige school. Goede ligging t.o.v centrum Workum.

For improvement
Entree gaat buitenom via hoge brandtrap, vond het beetje eng. Kamer het Leitje heeft geen toilet, daarvoor moet je 2x trapje af gang door etc. Voorts kleine wasbak. M.a.w het is allemaal een beetje benauwd, niet iets voor ouderen.
