\"Toeristenbelasting<\/a>

Steeds meer gemeenten komen op het idee van toeristenbelasting.<\/p><\/div>\n

De gemiddelde toeristenbelasting in Nederlandse gemeenten stijgt in 2014 met 2,2 procent. Zes gemeenten voeren dit jaar voor het eerst toeristenbelasting in.\u00a0Dat blijkt uit de Atlas voor Locale lasten 2014 van het COELO,\u00a0een onderzoeksinstituut verbonden aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.<\/p>\n

Toeristenbelasting populair bij gemeenten<\/strong>
\nSteeds meer gemeenten komen op het idee om toeristenbelasting in te voeren. In 2012 voerden 10 gemeenten de belasting in en in 2013 kwamen daar 6 gemeenten bij. Dit jaar groeit de groep alweer met 6 gemeenten, namelijk:\u00a0Kollummerland\/Nieuwkruisland, Amersfoort, Veenendaal, Veghel, Boskoop en Rijnwoude.<\/p>\n

In sommige gemeenten geldt een vast tarief voor de toeristenbelasting, in andere is de belasting afhankelijk van de hoogte van de overnachtingsprijs. Op veel plekken is de overnachtingsprijs gedaald door de recessie. Daardoor blijft de stijging van de gemiddelde toeristenbelasting beperkt, alalyseert het COELO.<\/p>\n

Kritiek op toeristenbelasting
\n<\/strong>De toeristenbelasting is veel B&B-eigenaren en andere ondernemers een doorn in het oog. In de Tweede Kamer zijn er herhaaldelijk Kamervragen over gesteld. Gemeenten betogen dat ze de middelen nodig hebben om de toeristisch-recreatieve infrastructuur in stand te houden. Zij zijn echter niet verplicht de opbrengst van de toeristenbelasting voor recreatie en toerisme aan te wenden.
