Hiddinghhoeve The Hiddinghhoeve was built in 1890, but buildings had been present on the same site since around 1600. Today, the site where the farmstead stands is a protected village conservation area. The characteristic, former agricultural building the Hiddingh, was transformed into a luxury bed and breakfast in 2012. The Hiddingh offers a spacious double B&B room and a four-person guesthouse with a full kitchen. Luxury abounds here. Smeerling consists of a number of scattered Westerwold farmhouses from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
