Less than a kilometre outside the built-up area of Nijkerk is Nordengoed. Nordengoed is situated in the characteristic slagen landscape on either side of the Slichtenhorsterweg. The Slichtenhorsterweg is one of the oldest roads in Nijkerk. Along this road are a number of historical farms with clear characteristics of an old agricultural culture.
Nijkerk is known for "the most beautiful church tower in the Netherlands". Furthermore, it is uniquely situated between the beautiful polder Arkemheen - one of the oldest polders in the Netherlands - on one side and the woods of the Veluwe on the other.
The Nordengoed ensemble has been granted national monument status because of the unique location of the farmhouse with barns and haystack. From 2021, Nordengoed was fully restored. Meanwhile, a splendid building has emerged under the name of B&B Nordengoed.
