Einstein was here is situated in the 'Plantage' in the center of Amsterdam. the green character owes it to Artis Zoo, the oldest city park het Wertheim, and the beautiful gardens of Hortus Botanicus. you will find a lot of students in the Plantage, since the University of Amsterdam built a huge campus across the street. this makes the Plantage a lovely, lively neighbourhood with a good choice of nice restaurants and cafes, within walking distance you’ll find the Hermitage, Nemo, Scheepvaartmuseum, Tropenmuseum, Waterlooplein, Rembrandtplein and Nieuwmarkt with it’s old canals, the operahouse, theatre Carre... in november the IDFA, international documentary festival, is organized around the Rembrandtplein. during 12 days over 300 high class documentaries are screened.
