25 Years of Passion for B&Bs

Bedandbreakfast.nl is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and we’re making sure it doesn’t go unnoticed! The love for B&Bs has always been at the heart of Hanny Arens, the founder of Bedandbreakfast.nl. From her attic room, the very first version of the website was launched in 2000. Since then, the passion for these charming accommodations has only grown stronger—not just for Hanny, but also for the millions of guests who book their stays at Dutch B&Bs through the site. Join us on a journey through time and celebrate this silver jubilee with us!

The website Bedandbreakfast.nl went live for the first time. From her attic in Eindhoven, Hanny personally reached out to B&B owners, inviting them to register on the site and offering them a spot in a printed B&B guide for visitors.

The year 1999 was a time full of promise and change. The world was on the brink of a new millennium, technology was advancing rapidly, and the internet was beginning its rise. Inspired by this atmosphere and the song 1999, I decided to embark on an adventure—one whose magnitude I couldn’t have imagined back then.
