Wirdum is near Loppersum and Appingedam, but also the city of Groningen is only 20/ 25 minutes away by car. At night, the garden and veranda are attractively illuminated. Right next door lives Klaas Hofman of the Wirdumerklap, who also rents out canoes. Along Veldzicht is a walking and cycling route. It is a self-supporting guesthouse, although there is coffee, tea and rusks for the first morning.
