B & B De Wilde Gaard is a farmhouse, located just outside Wijk bij Duurstede. From Switzerland is this B & B on the Rhein Rad Route (Part III), only 2 km from the ferry across the river Lek. The Kromme Rijn route is a varied walk from Utrecht to Wijk bij Duurstede (29 km). Pilgrims along the Jacobs Roads to Santiago de Compostela come right along. For guests there is plenty of space outside. Wijk bij Duurstede has a nice town with lots of restaurants. You can rent bikes to see, eg in the Utrecht Ridge or canoeing along the Kromme Rijn. Lake nearby Walking Paths are the Clog, including the recent Gerrit Achterbergpad. You are greeted with a welcome drink, you can make your own tea and coffee and enjoy the morning a rich and healthy breakfast, as biological and ecological as possible. You can also stay in the Haystack cottage in the orchard is romantic and except also ideal with children.
